When James Cameron released Avatar to the world in 2009 millions of people were not only captivated by the shear color and realistic nature of Pandora but also by the fact that we as the audience were immersed in its very fabric. Now, IMAX 3D, RealD 3D, and others have jumped on the 3D craze which is sweeping the entertainment and gaming industry.
However, have you ever stopped and asked yourself "Just how do they do that?" Well, the answers are quite simple if you have the time to come explore with me the world of 3D!
Please take some time to look through the "History" portion of this site. You will hopefully get a feel for how we have progressed in our understanding and execution of 3D technology. Then, if interested, move onto "The Science" where we break down the technology that is involved in the creation of 3D entertainment.
